COURSES OFFERED
Voice
P-VOX30 private lesson – half hour
P-VOX60 private lesson – full hour
G-VOX60 group lesson – 45 minute
Students from beginner to advanced, age 6 to adults, will study techniques in breathing, posture, diction, sight singing and ear training. Students will learn vocal warm-ups to help strengthen vocal chords and stretch vocal range. A variety of music styles will be studied, including classical, opera, pop, gospel, musical theatre and vocal improvisation. 15 weeks per semester.
Drama
P-DRA30 private lesson – half hour
P-DRA60 private lesson – full hour
G-DRA60 group lesson – 45 minutes
Students will study different acting methods including the Stanislavski and Meisner methods. They will explore subjects including character development, stage terminology, direction and delivery. The course requires the student to do a good bit of reading and memorization of plays, scenes and monologues. 15 weeks per semester.
Class Drama
C-DRA75 class lesson – 1 hour
This course will focus on small ensemble acting, utilizing traditional acting methods. A maximum of 10 students will be allowed to attend this course. The course will focus on improvisation techniques, theatre games and short scenes for performance. Students in this class are required to participate in the end of term recital. Classes are available for elementary, middle and high school aged children. Adult classes will be available in the spring term only. 15 weeks per semester.
Voice/Drama Combo
P-DVC60 private lesson – 45 minutes
G-DVC60 group lesson – 45 minutes
This course is a combination of both private voice and drama instruction. It is perfect for the student that wishes to study a more intense program with emphasis on musical theatre. Topics will include character development, projection, choreography and performance delivery. Students will learn classical vocal techniques for developing a healthy singing and speaking voice. This class is only offered as an hour long class per week. 15 weeks per semester.
