Jerry Skaggs
Executive Director of Intune Ministries

Jerry Skaggs is a graduate of Evangel University.  He currently serves as the Music and Arts Pastor at Concord First Assembly where he leads the congregation in weekly worship experiences and multiple dramatic productions each year. He is the founder of Intune Ministries.

Stephen Hargett
Executive Director
Stephen Hargett has served in Music Ministry for the past 20 years in churches in North Carolina and Tennessee. Stephen studied Church Music at Lee University in Cleveland, TN with an emphasis on Vocals. He currently serves as the Music Associate of Concord First Assembly. Stephen has written and arranged for 5 albums and is the Worship & Arts Pastor of CFA29N. Stephen Is also the founder or Inspire Worship Ministries which provides training and consulting for churches across North Carolina.

Patricia McTigue
Voice, Drama, Dance
S.M.A.C.K. Director
Ms. McTigue has spent most of her life on the stage.  She played her first professional role at age seven and has dedicated much of her life to music, theatre and dance.  She studied music at Evangel University, dance at Middle Tennessee State University and holds a BSBA in Marketing from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.  Her musical theatre credits have afforded her the opportunity to travel the world extensively, performing and entertaining on cruise ships, theme parks and regional theatres.  She was a featured vocalist with the award winning group The Kingdom Heirs as well as a back-up singer for the Grammy award winning artist, Lee Greenwood.  She is the director and choreographer for SMACK, Summer Musical Arts Camp for Kidz, as well as a very active member for the Music and Fine Arts department at Concord First Assembly.

Don Simmons
Piano
Don Simmons is a native of Kannapolis, North Carolina.  He began studying piano at the age of 8, trumpet at the age of 10, and organ at the age of 14.  He holds a Bachelor of Music degree in performance from the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill, a Master of Music in performance from Northwestern University as well as a Doctorate of Music in Sacred music from Northwestern University.  He has given private music lessons for a significant portion of his 35+ years as a professional musician.  He has served as Music Director in several churches as well as elementary general music teacher and high school chorus teacher in both Christian and public schools.

Corey Gaston
Piano, Voice, Trumpet, Trombone, F. Horn, Tuba, Bass Guitar, Percussion
Corey has been studying music for 25 years and knew at an early age that music would be a passion that lasts forever!  Corey graduated Magna Cum Laude from the U.S. Naval School of Music in Norfolk VA while studying Music Performance and Music Theory. He served 4 years as a United States Marine Musician as trumpet soloist and section leader while serving in Okinawa, Japan and here in the states. After his military service, Corey surrendered to the call of ministry and entered into full-time Music Ministry. He currently serves as Music Associate at Concord First Assembly.

Yvonne Spencer
Piano
Yvonne Spencer has been teaching classical piano to students of all levels for eighteen years.  In addition to Attending Flora McDonald College and Meredith College, Ms. Spencer received her Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance and theory from William Cary College in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.  Her post-bachelor studies have included instruction at Winthrop University and tutelage by Clifton Matthews at the North Carolina School of the Arts.  Ms. Spencer developed “Sounds of Artistry Method for Beginners,” which specializes in correct technical instruction for the young child.  Presently, Ms. Spencer serves as organist at Harrisburg Presbyterian Church.  She is also experienced in directing handbell and Children’s choirs.

Debbie Artuso
Piano
Debbie Artuso studied Sacred Music at Central Bible College in Springfield, Missouri.  Debbie has been a church pianist since she was 13 years old.  As a teen, she competed annually in piano competitions.  While at CBC, Debbie sang with Revivaltime Choir and traveled on 8 tours across the United States and Canada, ministering in churches nightly.  The choir recorded weekly broadcasts which were aired around the world.  Debbie has also directed children’s, youth, and adult choirs.  She has taught piano students for about 15 years.


David Edwards
David Edwards
Guitar / Drums
David Edwards is a lifelong musician, having played drums since age 5 and guitar since age 15. After high school, David worked with local high schools as a percussion clinician. A Christian Ministry graduate of Lee University-Charlotte, David has taught private music lessons as a business, The Psalmist Workshop, since 2004 and has worked in multiple settings as a teacher, musician, and worship leader. He and his wife, Kelly, are youth pastors in Kannapolis and they make their home in Salisbury.

Jared Stowers

Jared Stowers is an accomplished guitarist with years of experience. He currently is a Music Major at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.

Brian Dotson
Guitar / Bass Guitar / Drums
With over 30 years as a studio & performing musician Brian Dotson brings a broad range of musical experience to his students. Having performed in settings as diverse as Nashville studio sessions to the streets of France for their national music festival to musical outreaches at NASCAR events, his unique perspective on guitar improvisation, musical arrangement and sound crafting offer his students learning opportunities grounded in decades of real world application. He has taught from the beginner level all the way up to college classes. Students learn by example through instruction focusing on songs from their favorite artists and having Brian walk them through the various aspects of learning tunes they already know and appreciate. His classes focus on developing dexterity, solid technique, foundational group performance principles, music theory, and improvisational approaches. Although he he focuses on guitar, Brian also teaches beginner drums and bass guitar. Brian is a local pastor and leads worship weekly as well.

Heather Hruska

Heather is the newest member of the Intune family. With years of instruction under her belt, Heather brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to her students. More bio info coming soon......

John Hogan
Drums
Intune School is proud to welcome our newest drum instructor, John Hogan. Teaching from his “Rhythmology” Rhythm Workbooks for Drummers with over 400 pages of exercises explaining basic approaches for advanced applications, you will be equipped and challenged! With over 30 years of playing experience and 20 years of teaching ages 5 to 65, John’s commitment as a Music Artist and Educator is inspiring to all!

Melody Hogan
Art Instructor
Intune School is also proud to introduce our Art Instructor, Melody Hogan. Melody has a Masters of Science in Education from Harding University. She has worked in corporate, retail, and educational creative environments as a Graphic Designer for more that 15 years. More info about art classes coming soon!
